Obituary of Shirley (Beeman) Sopka

Shirley J. Sopka, 76,  of Sayre, PA passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at home.  Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Bill Sopka.  She is survived by her son, Ken Barrett, Jr. and Annie Slawson; grandson, Melvin Mohrman; two great-grandchildren, Keagan and Aurora; five siblings, Larry (Rose) Beeman, Lee (Vicky) Beeman, Dick (Caren) Beeman, Nancy Beeman, Lillie Barnes; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Shirley as very active in the community and belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxilary and the Women of the Moose.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY.  Burial will follow in the Woodlawn National Cemetery, Emira, NY.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley J. Sopka’s memory to Guthrie Hospice, 321 Tomahawk Road, Towanda, PA  18848.  Condolences may be made to Shirley’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
