Obituary of Donald Harold McKeeby

Donald Harold McKeeby, Sr., 94, of Hilton, NY and formerly of Candor, NY passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. He was born September 17, 1926 to Harold and Blanche McKeeby in Fairdale PA. Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his wife, Helen M. McKeeby; step-son, Thomas Bennett; and sister, Eleanor McKeeby. He is survived by his son, Donald (Stacy) McKeeby; step-sons, Edward (Jennifer) Bennett, Jr. and Robert Bennett; step-daughters, Bonnie Lou (Ken) Strickland and Lana Jean Morse; sister, Alice (Albert) Nacinovich; 15 Grandchildren; several Great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Donald proudly served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Senior Engineer at IBM in Owego, NY for 25 years before he retired in 1984. He held a Private Pilot Certificate and enjoyed flying, talking about Aviation and his adventures in Alaska and else where. He was a member of the Southern Tier Stock Car Club from 1957 to 1962. He was a current member of the Candor American Legion and a past member of the Masonic Lodge in Candor. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Candor, NY. A visitation will be held prior from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm. Please Note: All State Required social distancing guidelines are to be followed. Services will be live streamed at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com (click on the obituary). A graveside service, with military honors, will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 1:00pm at Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald's name to The American Legion Auxiliary Unit Post #907, 90 Spencer Road, Candor, NY 13743.
