Condolences may be made to Kim's family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com For Kim: by Aunt Maggie My Little Shadow As I reckon days past in the great halls of time There's a redheaded girl that fills up my mind A freckled face beauty with a cute button nose Who entered my life from my big sister Rose She was more than a niece, that sweet little gal We were kindred in spirit, and she became my best pal She brightened my youth and gave me such worth I knew she was special that day of her birth. She'd tag along closely through woods on a hike Or when climbing the trees or riding our bikes When swimming in creeks or in fun silly games She was there close beside me and never complained In our unspoken words there were giggles and smiles The bond that we shared would erase time and miles We shared more than bloodline, we shared heart and soul And she meant more than this-if all truth could be told! I can't say just why, or how it could be That a freckled face kid could mean so much to me God planted a treasure, he gave us a gem But often life's bruises and scars never mend Somewhere in the annals of time was a thief And this life could not keep her out of harms reach My heart is so broken, my words all seem pale As I look back in anguish, and see broken trails A see tears and sadness, I see hard décor A shield of protection I see that she wore But often she'd shine from a heart that was kind She tried to help others though broken inside Misunderstood in the search for her peace I see God remove her, for his love is so deep I know in my heart, that's so full of regret That God understood her, and he never forgets For she was my shadow, her memory won't dim I'll love you forever, my sweet darling, Kim
