Obituary of Shirley Louise Snyder

Shirley Louise Snyder, 91, of Owego, NY passed away on August 4, 2021. She was born on February 7, 1930 to George W. and Carrie Herrala. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Harold A. Snyder; and her sister, Dorothy Schumacher. Shirley is survived by her son, Laverne Snyder; brother and sister-in-law, Lacey and Katherine Herrala; as well as many nieces and nephews. Shirley worked as a seamstress and tailor in both Binghamton and from her home; well known in the area for the quality of her work. She loved to live life to the fullest, taking advantage of any opportunity to have fun. She loved square dancing, attending Concerts at the Park at Hickories, the Kentucky Derby Day at Tioga Downs, going to Octoberfest at Hunter Mountain and traveling to South Dakota and Finland. Her adventuresome and outgoing spirit will be greatly missed. Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 10:00am to 10:45am at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY.
