Obituary of Teresa Margaret Zander

Teresa Smith Zander, 69 of Owego, N.Y., passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 29, 2021. She was born on August 8, 1951 in St. Albans, Queens, N.Y. to George and Margaret Smith. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. David B. Zander and her sister, Loretta Smith. Terri is survived by her daughter, Courtney (Gina) Vencl, sons, Scott (Erin) D'Vileskis and Eric D'Vileskis; grandchildren, Raelynn, Simon and Allene; brother George "Tommy" (Pixie) Smith; niece and nephew; great nieces and nephew; brother in law, William Ryckman; dear friends, Roseanne Potter and Linda Strauss and her loyal loving companions, Abraham, Buddy, Little Sis and Ellie May. Terri was a registered nurse for over 30 years, specializing in ICU and critical care. She retired to make a dream come true of having her own horse farm and being a riding instructor. She made her barn a comforting place for her "Old Guys" to retire and live out their lives peacefully. Along with her husband, David, she grew pumpkins, gourds and squash. They shared their harvest at their annual Halloween parties. Terri enjoyed vacationing yearly to Stratford, Ontario and Walt Disney World Resort. A private celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
