Obituary of Donna M. Damon

Donna M. Damon – 78 of Cape Coral, Florida died in the comfort of her home on January 6, 2020 after a battle with breast cancer. She was born on November 8, 1941 in Owego, NY by late Robert and Bernice Rothrock. She was recently predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Everett D. Damon, on October 20, 2021. After raising her family while working at the Owego Free Academy High School, Donna and Everett have enjoyed their retirement years in Cape Coral, Florida. Donna is survived by her sisters, Sharon Rothrock Hitch of IN and Linda Rothrock White of MA. She is also survived by her children, Janet Damon Niedopytalski, Terri Penrose O'Bryant (John), Carol Penrose Detrick (Mark), Larry Penrose (Regina), Robert Penrose, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her son, Michael Damon. Donna enjoyed boating, piano, reading and is remembered by her great culinary skills. She also enjoyed hosting dinners with family and friends; and always reminded everyone "It is 4 o'clock somewhere." . The family will receive friends and on Friday, October 29th from 10:00 am to 10:45 am with services to immediately follow at 11:00 am at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY.
