Karl D. Hills, 80, of Endicott, New York, passed away peacefully and "took a little rest" Friday, December 31, 2021 in Leipsic, DE. Karl was born in Johnson City, NY. Karl was predeceased by his parents, Asa and Anna Hills, his beloved wife of 41 years, Sally Hills; daughter, Suzanne Whalen; brother, Gerald Hills; brother-in-law, George Kozich. He is survived by his daughter, Kara Bristow (Bill); son, Mark Hills (Jennifer); son-in-law, Phillip Holowacz; sister, Donna Kozich; sister-in-law, June Hills; five grandchildren, Asa, Samantha, Caleb, Peri, Zooey; his good friend, Gilda Dodge and family; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Karl graduated from Union Endicott High School and had a Masters Degree from SUNY Cortland. He retired from teaching after 31 years at Ann G. McGuinness Elementary School in the Union-Endicott School District. He golfed regularly with friends and in leagues in Owego and Florida. He was an avid Pitch player and loved to talk smack and run the card table at family gatherings. Karl loved all types of fishing, catching walleyes on the Susquehanna River and bass fishing on Upper Rideau Lake. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and the Vestal Elks Lodge #2508. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY with the Rev.Thomas Hardy, officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin, NY. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 12, 2021 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Karl D. Hills' memory to the Vestal Elks Lodge #2508, 2071 Vestal Parkway W., Vestal, NY 13850.
