Obituary of Laurie Margaret Hawthorne

Laurie Margaret Hawthorne, 62, of Tioga, NY, entered eternal rest on June 19, 2022. She was born in Laconia, New Hampshire to Paul Adam Hawthorne, Jr. and Rita Fay Uhlenberg (Hawthorne). Laurie attended Vestal High School and graduated in 1978. She was a seamstress for Eureka Tent for years and was also employed by IBM . At the time of her passing she was employed by Homestead Senior Care as a home health aide. Laurie loved being in nature and enjoyed spending time with her fur babies. She was predeceased by her parents; grandparents; her husband William Thomas Welfel Hawthorne (Tom); her sister-in-law, Patty Stetson Hawthorne (Squirrel); her brother and sister-in-law; Michael Hawthorne and Lisa Williams, various nieces and nephews. She is loved and missed by her brother Paul Hawthorne; sisters, Stephanie Beams (Tom), Joanne Welch (Kevin), sister-in-law Debra Welfel Wanzo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life for Laurie and her brother and sister-in-law will take place at Hickories Park in Owego, N.Y. on August 21 at 1 pm.
