Obituary of Joan Marie Gillette

Joan M. (Bush) Gillette, 80, of Willseyville, NY unexpectedly passed away, Sunday, September 18, 2022 at home. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Carl (Betty) Bush and Roberta (Glen) Andrews; her husband, Hugh Gillette; sister, Judy (Bush) MacDonald. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Leisa Gillette, Kevin and Robin Gillette; five grandchildren, Lucas, Jenna, Brian, Nathan, Lauren; great-granddaughter, Vivian; brother, Jim Bush, brother-in-law, Tom MacDonald; sister-in-law, Arlene Gillette; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Joan retired from Cornell University after 23 years of service. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school and sporting events. She looked forward to family gatherings and reunions. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, NY. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
