Dennis Adler, 82, of Owego, NY passed away on November 18, 2022, at Elderwood in Waverly, NY. Dennis was born September 25, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY to Louis and Violet Adler. After leaving school early to join the military he later earned his GED and went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Paralegal studies at Broome Community College. He had many careers in his lifetime including retail management, production, Sheriff's Deputy, NY State Racing and Wage Commission Judge and retired Union Member. He was the king of bad jokes and enjoyed many hobbies including wood working and collecting…just about anything. He served his community for many years as a proud member of the Owego Fire Department, Owego Fire Department Emergency Squad and American Legion Ambulance Service. Dennis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gregg and Teresa Adler; daughter, Ellen; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brother, Stanley Adler. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Violet; brother, Allan Adler; sister, Jeanne Auerbach; Graveside services will be held on Monday November 22nd at 1:30 pm at the Tioga Cemetery, Owego, NY officiated by Rabbi Oren Steinitz. The family is being assisted by the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Owego Fire Department, P.O. Box 22, Owego, NY 13827 or Tioga Opportunities, Inc., 9 Sheldon Guile Blvd., Owego, NY 13827. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kathleen Lewis for her years of outstanding medical care, compassion and respect as well as Julie and the entire caring team at The Homestead's.
