Obituary of Richard Michael Wasyln

Richard "Rick/Pop" Wasyln, 76, of Owego, New York went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 2, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Mary (Szlucha) Wasyln. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Louise (Materese) Wasyln; three children and their spouses, Jeffery and Laura Wasyln, Paul and Cynthia Wasyln, Grace and Joseph Baker; five grandchildren, Anthony Dorn, Michael Wasyln, Nicholas Wasyln, Grady Coffey, Caleb Baker; two great-granddaughters, Ann Dorn, Aubrie Correll; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carole and Jerrold Cargill, Linda and Robert Thomson; brother-in-law, Gary Lindsey; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rick graduated from Union Endicott High School Class of 1964 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Carpenter's Local #281. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Hospice at Lourdes for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 12th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in the Spring.
