Obituary of Mary "Pat" DeWitt

Mary "Pat" DeWitt, 89, of Nichols, NY went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2023. Pat was born in Owego, NY to the late John and Kathryn "Betty" Grandeo. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald DeWitt; son, Robert James. She is survived by her daughter, Robin James; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Deneen James; daughter-in-law, Betsy James; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas, Doug, Kristen, Angela, Kristofer, Jamie, Richard, Connor, Alexis, Brandi and Brian; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, R. Arlene Snyder; brother and sister-in-law, John and Linda Grandeo; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Pat was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Church and faithfully recited her Rosary every night. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, reading, attending to her flowers but most of all helping to take care of her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 300 Main St., Owego, NY. Burial will follow in the Nichols Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY.
