Don Jessup what an interesting man . Being a car guy and Don my senior by a few year's. I got to know who he was he had a new Chevy every year , Every young car guy in Owego knew who Don was. It was also pretty well know that Don was a stock car race fan and had gone to the Daytona 500 as well as a member of the WE GO racing fan club based at the old Owego speedway.
Don was also a DINER guy and his cool cars often could be seen at the Owego Diner on Main Street in Owego .
As the years went on I got to know Don better as we worked in IBM near each other at the Broadway Building in Owego . He had a new 66 Chevelle Super sport Blue in those days . And more to come after that . In later years after we had both retired from IBM I would have lunch with Don at the Owego senior Citizens Center (TOPS). Don was an easy going gentleman . And a nice guy .
RIP my friend thanks for all the great car memories when I was just a kid .
It was so nice to see Mrs. Weber is still alive . I so remember the great friendship Don had with the Weber family .Jr Weber was a Ford guy with a 360 Ford YIKES !!!. They were the good ole days for sure. Eating Bea and Rex's Chili late at night and admiring the Big Guys hot car's out front of the Owego Diner was the Best .
