Obituary of Lola Mae Walker

Lola Mae Walker, 82, of Barton, NY passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at home. Lola was born on December 10, 1940 in Williamsport, PA to the late William and Bernice Luce. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, William H. Luce. Lola is survived by her life partner, Charles Sellars; daughter, Michele Wuensch; two grandchildren, Daniel and Addie Wuensch; sister, Betty Lou Woodard; her extended family, Lisa Sellars, C. Joseph and Colleen Sellars, Kelly Cella; grandchildren, Talie and William Hutchinson; Dante Cella, Connor Sellars, Chelsa Sellars; special friends, Joanne Hackett; several nieces and nephews. Lola was a graduate of Northside High School, Corning, NY. She retired from Corning, Inc. in 1995 following 27 years of service. Lola was very community minded and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Corning for a number of years, The Corning Elks Lodge, and a former member of the Corning Rotary Club. She enjoyed her many pets, going to flea markets, jig saw puzzles, working in her yard and flower garden, knitting and was an avid reader of a variety of topics and authors. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 5:00 to 6:45 p.m. with a celebration of her life to immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Troy Preston, officiating at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Broome County Dog Shelter, 110 Cutler Pond Road, Binghamton, NY 13905 or to your local animal rescue.
