Obituary of Donald Robert Quick

Donald R. Quick, Sr., 81, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015, at home. Don was predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret Quick; sister and brother-in-law, Freida and Fred Billings. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Joyce Frost Hettis McGeever Quick; children, Donald and Lynn Quick, Jean Dunham, Sereta and Jim Spohn, Becky and Terry Walpole, Bettie and Bob McLaughlin, Tim Hettis, Paul Hettis, Nathan McGeever, Amanda McGeever; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Siblings, Bill and Ann Quick, Peg Granger, Joyce Stewart, Lloyd and Brenda Quick, Frank and Laura Updyke, Carol and Kenneth Decker, Kathy and Bill Landon; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Edith Denman; good friends, Joe and Sandra Slate. Don was a farmer, construction worker and retired as an Ithaca Union Laborer. He enjoyed dancing, pow pows, joking around and was a jack of all trades. Don will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor, NY with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Valley Cemetery in the Spring. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
