My dad was a very kind and patient man. He was a great role model and lived life straight up no shortcuts. when I struggled with my drinking he found me a rehab and his support was unwavering. My sobriety date is July 9th. This is my parents wedding anniversary date as well. Nineteen years sober this past July. Dad was so proud of this sobriety gig. I'll miss you so much dad. Especially when watching the Bills or Notre Dame football. I'll see you again in heaven. Rest gently.

It saddened me to hear of Murphy’s passing. We were out of town when we received the news. He was always good to be with, whether it was walking our dogs, playing tennis or chatting over lunch. He loved his family and was proud of all of them, I will miss his laugh and his friendship.
Simply put, he was a good man.

I remember Marty starting in our freshman year at Cortland. He was one of the kindest, most decent people I have ever met. We used to call him “Mother Murphy “ because he was so easy to talk to and always kind. It is fitting that he would go into a field that used those very assets. It saddens me that he is gone. So sad to hear of “Murph’s passing. I have known Murph since we were Counselors in 1972 and again in Vestal. Murph was always a calm presence and his humor could always be relied upon. He brought compassion and experience to his work. He loved his family and was guided by a strong sense of fairness and morality . Sad for the passing of a very fine man. We as EMS providers in our earlier years with OFDES, experienced many events together serving the community. Marty became the Tioga County EMS CoOrdinator, and also served as an EMS instructor. His Thursday night crew was solid and with Johnnie Dolinski pushing the spirit so many were always helped. Always friendly with Pat and family at sport events we had very good times. There are many small and good times to remember and we will miss him as a friend. Remember the best.
