Tom learned many acoustic songs which he played at many family events including birthdays and even a funeral. Tom also loved to cook and invent new dishes to share with family and co-workers. He earned the nickname "The Eggman" while helping cook at the Eiklor family pancake breakfast for 20 years. As a young man he hitchhiked across the country, even visited Owego on his way to California.
