Obituary of Julianna A. Zamoiski

Julianna Alice (Talarski) Zamoiski, of Candor, NY, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023. She was 96 years old. Julianna was born to Alexander and Catherine Talarski on April 12, 1927, in Candor, New York. She was raised in Candor, NY and graduated from Candor Central School in 1945. She married Francis (Frank) Zamoiski on May 18, 1946, and they were married for 59 years. The family owned a dairy farm until 1975 along with Steve and Joy Zamoiski (deceased). Julianna raised three of her own children and babysat many neighborhood children over the years and was fondly called "Cocie". She also worked as housekeeper for the President of Ithaca College for a few years. She was the neighborhood Dutchmaid lady if any of you remember. Julianna was a very active member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Catatonk, NY and was part of the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Lovely Vale Homemakers Club, the Candor Grange and the Polka and Square Dance groups. She was part of Cornell Cooperative Extension Home Economics, and she was Election Inspector. Her hobbies and interests included canning and baking, gardening, playing cards and board games with family and friends, and traveling. She spent the winters as a "snowbird" in Jacksonville, Florida and she moved there permanently in 2019. Later in life, she spent her days reading, doing word search puzzles, and sitting with her grand dog, Critter. Julianna is survived by her daughters, Therese Zamoiski, of Jacksonville, FL, Alicia Schultz (David), of Arnold, MD; her son, Paul Zamoiski, of Lebanon, ME; her two grandchildren, Cathy Wasiuta (Eric), of Annapolis, MD, Dan Schultz (Amanda), of Davidsonville, MD; her two great granddaughters Julianna and Kate; and her nephew, Michael (Jodie) Talarski, of Ithaca, NY; grandnephew, Chester Talarski; many other nieces and nephews. Julianna is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her brother, Chester Talarski, daughter-in-law, Gail Zamoiski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 300 Main St., Owego, NY. Interment immediately following the service at St. Patricks Cemetery, 3883 Waverly Rd, Owego. Lunch will be served immediately after at Candor Fire Hall, 74 Owego Rd., Candor, NY. The family is being assisted by the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Candor Fire Hall, 74 Owego Rd., Candor, NY 13743, or the Tioga County Rural Ministry, 144 North Ave., Owego, NY 13827.
