Obituary of Herbert Nelson Gorham

Herbert "Herb" Gorham, 77, of Owego, New York passed away Monday, October 16, 2023. Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Walter and Eugenia (Gardner) Gorham. Herb was raised in Scranton and Clarks Summit, PA and graduated from Abington Heights High School. He attended Keystone College and Lehigh University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree ('68) in Electrical Engineering. Herb went on to work on helicopter avionics with IBM and then Lockheed Martin until his retirement in 2006. Herb met his wife Alice at Wrighter Lake when they were children. They married in 1969 and celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in July. He is survived by his wife, Alice Gorham and his two children, daughter, Dawn Gorham and son, Christopher Gorham. Herb loved spending time at the lake and could often be found on the water sailing, paddling or water skiing. He also enjoyed cross country skiing and hiking and travelled extensively over the years visiting many national parks at home and abroad. The family will receive friends Friday, October 27, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY with services immediately following at 3:00 pm.
