Obituary of Gary Austin Murray

Gary A. Murray, 83, of Owego, NY, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Garland and Christine Murray; brother, Randall Murray. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Virginia "Ginny" Soos-Murray; son and daughter in -law Alan and Angela Murray; daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and John Sage; three grandchildren, Kira (Dan) Sauce, Kasey Sage, Kathrine (Renny) Sage, brother, Phillip Murray; several nephews and a niece. Gary loved science and followed his passion with a PHD in Chemistry. Gary worked for IBM and Binghamton University. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and the American Chemical Society. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Union Church of Owego and served as Elder and Deacon. Gary will be remembered for his passion for the sciences and his love of his family and dear friends. The family is planning on having a celebration of Gary's life in the near future (date and time to be determined) at the First Presbyterian Union Church.
