Obituary of Bernice Eleanor Oltz

Bernice Eleanor (Manning) Oltz, 82, of Willseyville, New York passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. Berni was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Iva Manning; siblings, Doris Van Etten, Robert C. Manning, William R. Manning. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jack Oltz; five children, Michael (Zulay Siba) Oltz, Robert Oltz, Phillip (Susanne) Oltz, Joanne Marsh, Dianne (Jim) Koske; five grandchildren, Robert John Oltz, Jr., Mitchell Oltz, Christopher (Nikoya) Marsh, Jenalyn (James) Mihelcic, Sahra Price; two great-grandsons, Lucus Marsh, Jayce Acevedo; two sisters, Agnes Martin, Helen VanEtten; several nieces and nephews. Berni will be remembered for her strong faith, singing, reading and most importantly her time spent with family. Bernie’s favorite saying was “His eye is on the sparrow and I know he’s watching me.” In honoring Berni’s request, graveside services will be held privately at the Smith Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bernice E. Oltz’s memory to the Candor Food Pantry or the American Cancer Society.
