Obituary of Juna Tinkham

Juna Mae (Short) Tinkham, 90, went to join her Lord and Savior, Saturday, July 11, 2015, peacefully in her sleep. Juna was born in Apalachin, NY to the late Lloyd and Beulah (Fink) Short. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Daniel Lloyd Tinkham; brother, Kenneth Short. She is survived by her four children, Donna and Lorne McInnes, Debra Tinkham, Damon Tinkham and Joanne Honnick, Duane Tinkham and Marsha Thompson; grandchildren, Lora McInnes and Andrew Kertesz, Lory and Alex Weisz, Ethan McInnes, Dason Tinkham; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tinkham was a strong supporter of the Union Center United Methodist Church and the Gospel Chapel in Owego. She worked hard her whole life with many different employers and retired from IBM. Juna will be remembered as a women who served God with her entire being. Mom had the heart of a champion. She never quit and she never compromised. She was a pushover for convertibles and motorcycles. Her thrift and generosity are legendary. She traved the world. Her faith in Jesus was like that of a child. Her prayers will be missed. She loved music, couldn’t sing a note. Today we know she is singing with the angels. We will miss you, Mom. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munreo & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with the Rev. Loretta Perry, officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Juna M.
