Obituary of Paul F. Malakin

Paul (Bud) Malakin, 78, of Owego, NY, passed into eternal rest August 17, 2015. Paul was the son of the late John H. and Martha Malakin of Scranton, PA. He was also predeceased in death by his sister, Joan Etzel, of Wilkes-Barre, PA. Paul is survived by his two brothers, John T. Malakin, of Camp Hill, PA; Robert Malakin, of Wilkes-Barre, PA; also surviving are three nephews, Fred Etzel, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, David Malakin (wife,Samantha), of Harrisburg, PA, Sean Malakin (wife, Tamara),of Mechanicsburg, PA; niece, Karen Mullen (husband, Josh), of Lynnwood, WA and their children, Alina and Asher Mullen. Paul graduated from Central High School and earned a degree in music from Mansfield State College. He taught elementary music in Troy, PA and Owego NY. Paul loved to travel to New York City to see the Broadway shows and loved to root for the New York Yankees. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Church in Scranton, PA. The family will receive friends Friday, August 21st from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Funeral services will be held privately.
