Maurice A. “Maury” Dupuis, 83, of Owego, fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on Thursday, September 10, 2015. Mr. Dupuis is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Irene Dupuis; six children and their spouses, Richard and Betsy Dupuis, Lenora and Mark Hoffa, Thomas and Debi Dupuis, Douglas and Brenda Dupuis, Daniel and Cathi Dupuis, Cynthia and Russell Lowe; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Lorraine Skidmore; several nieces and nephews and dear friends, Eugene and Arlene Kucharski. Maurice served in the US Air Force as a Senior Flight Mechanic, in the 8th Troop Carrier Squadron, Larson AFB. As well as Flight Engineer on the C124 Globemaster during the Korean War. His love of flying began at the age of 14, earning him his pilot’s license at the age of 16, preceding his driver’s license. Upon leaving the service Maurice spent 37 years with the airlines beginning with Mohawk in 1954 and retiring from US Airways in 1991 as supervisor of ground operations at the Greater Binghamton Airport. Maurice had a great love of adventure taking his wife and family to many places all over the world. He also found adventure thru martial arts and scuba diving. Maurice was a loving man who enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, including all those who knew him at all their favorite local restaurants they frequently dined in. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main St., Owego. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.
