Please share a memory of Fay to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Retired MSGT Fay Robert Todd (Bob) was called home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family, and had a very peaceful passing. Bob was born on December 22, 1941 in Watertown NY to Fay and Helen (Fraser) Todd. Bob left Watertown in 1959 and joined the USAF. It was while being stationed in Columbus Mississippi that he met and married the love of his life, Mickie Black. Together the Air Force took them to all corners of the world. Everyplace was an adventure where Bob became involved with the cultures and different hobbies. He enjoyed most flying model airplanes and becoming a master scuba diver with his son Scott Todd. Bob was always getting involved in helping others. One of the most fulfilling examples of this was being put in charge of the refugees from Vietnam going to Guam in 1974. In 1981, Bob and Mickie retired from the Air Force after 23 years. The Bronze Medal was only one of many medals and commendations. Bob was not finished yet. He became a master mechanic/technician at Gator creek Marine in Punta Gorda, FL. A second retirement sent Bob and Mickie to Candor NY . Bob loved the people, community, church and being involved with his grandchildren; where he spent many seasons of not missing a game, track meet or practice. He is survived by his four children; Tami Bremer-Houk (Randy), Scott (Rosemary), Sonya Quintana (Rafael), Susan Filkins, 18 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Family was the center of his life. Bob was a wonderful and loving daddy and grandpa. He will be remembered for having a kind and generous heart. He always tried to be funny, and K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) was his mantra. He was a brave strong man and is already missed beyond measure. A brief memorial service will be held at the Village Chapel in Candor New York, on Friday September 18th at 10:00 am, followed by a Patriot Guard procession to Woodlawn National Cemetery where MSGT Todd will receive full military honors while he is laid to rest.
