Obituary of Richard E. Eckstrom

Richard E. Eckstrom, 84, of Owego passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Evar and Ellen Stillwell Eckstrom; and his brother, Alan S. Eckstrom. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Kay Eckstrom; sons, Richard (Cheryl Russell) Eckstrom of Beaufort, SC, Robert E. (Nancy) Eckstrom of Owego, Daniel J. Eckstrom of Ithaca, and Dean (Barbara) Eckstom of Lansing; and six grandchildren, Schulyer and Julien, Birgit and Korin, Erika and Claire. Dick was an active member of the Owego United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee for many years. He retired from IBM after 31 years in the Federal Systems Division. Dick was an active Kiwanian, serving for over 30 years. He truly enjoyed family, sailing and fishing. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
