Obituary of Sharon E. Sandlan

Sharon E. Sandlan (Aunt Sissy), 68, of Willseyville died January 15 in Sayre, PA. She was born in Ithaca in 1941 to the late Lawrence and Mary McFall Woodin and retired from Cornell University as manager of the Sociology Department in 2009. She was known for her love of family, of crafting and singing, and her dedication to conservation. Sharon is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kenneth Sandlan, brother Donald (Mary Lou) Woodin, sister Karen Dufresne, brother-in-law Robert Burke and special friends Kelly Wilms and Joe Lawrence; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and her beloved cats. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Mina Burke, and brother Phillip Woodin. A Memorial Service for Sharon will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street in Candor with Steve Lawrence officiating.
