Cassandra “Cassie” (Haner) Cortright, 69, of Candor passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital surrounded by her family. Cassie was born, April 6, 1947 to the late Ralph L. and Edna Mae (Blackman) Haner. Besides her parents, Cassie was predeceased by her son, Tommy Cortright. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Sam Cortright; daughter and son-in-law, Susanne and Brent Chaffee; son, John Cortright; two grandsons, Connor Morgan, Alex Morgan; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven (Janice), Scott and Sherry, Doug and Nancy, Ben; sister, Deena; sister-in-law, Cathi Haner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cassie retired from Cornell University Athletic Department. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bostwick Gallery, 1121 Route 96, Candor. Memorial contributions may be made in Cassie Cortright’s memory to the Candor Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 141, Candor, NY 13743.
