Richard R. Pass, 85, of Owego, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2016 surrounded by his family. Richard was born on April 2, 1931 in Johnson City, NY to the late Richard and Mildred (Wiggins) Pass. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Pass; sister, Barbara Canfield . He is survived by his children, Jayne Clark, of Owego, Rick (Lisa) Pass, Goose Creek, SC, Karen (Tom) Alexander, Horseheads; six grandchildren, Jeremy Clark, Jessica Alexander, Katherine Alexander, Meggan Pass, Gerry Pass, Brian Beuerman; great-granddaughter, Abigale Clark; great-grandson, Nikolas Zayas; sister, Sarah Hall; several nieces and nephews. Richard graduated from Owego Free Academy, Class of 1949, and Eastern Baptist Seminary, in 1964and received his Masters Degree from Syracuse Univerisity. He was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 and was a chaplain in the U.S. Army form 1966 to 1971. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and received a Vietnam Service Medal, a Vietnam Compaign Medal, An Army Commendation Medal and two Bronze Star Medals. He was a disabled American Veteran. He was an ordained American Baptist Minister and a member of the First Baptist Church of Owego. Richard loved riding motorcycles, playing dominos and hearts, reading spy thrillers and doing word search puzzles. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY with the Rev. Bill Kohler, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Owego. Calling hours will be held on Thursday Evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard R.
