Obituary of Richard W. LeCount

Richard “Dick – Tiny” LeCount, 71, of Candor passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, September 12, 2017.  Richard was predeceased by his parents, Arlene and Charles LeCount.  He is survived by two aunts, Joyce Utter, Binghamton, NY, Mae Purves, Boise, ID; several cousins, dear friend, Bernadette Toombs.  Richard was a graduate of Candor High School and enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, boating on his boat “Anytime Baby”. He was a Charter Captain, a member of the Masonic Lodge and NYSEMO. Richard enjoyed cooking and knew where the best restaurants and butchers were located across the country.  He worked at IBM, Loral, Lockheed Martin for over 30 years,  In 1987, Richard worked as Tioga County Civil Defense Director and retired in February, 2017, as Tioga County Director of Emergency Preparedness.  Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel, 185 Day Hollow Road, Owego, NY.  The family will receive friends Friday, September 22, 2017 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard LeCount’s memory to the Lakeview Chapel, 185 Day Hollow Road, Owego, NY  13827 or Candor Emergency Squad, PO Box 141, Candor, NY  13743.  Condolences may be made to Richard’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
