Obituary of Jennie DeMara

Jennie DeMara, 102, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014. Mrs. DeMara was predeceased by her husband, Frank DeMara; siblings, Mariano William Sist, Clementine Mascellino, Angelo Sist, Anna Panzarella, Theresa Fiore, Michael Sist, Joseph Sist, Anthony Sist, Donald Sist. Jennie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Francis and Cheryl DeMara, Owego; grandson, Ronald DeMara, Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Elaine and her husband, David Johnson, Penfield, NY; brother, Sam Sist, Whitehall, PA; several nieces and nephews. Jennie lived in Tresckow, PA most of her life. She worked as a Pocket Setter at the Leibowicz Shirt Factory in Hazleton, PA for fifteen years before becoming a full time homemaker. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Tresckow, PA. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of James G. Johnson Memorial Nursing Home for their care and compassion. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, McAdoo, PA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, McAdoo, PA.
