Obituary of Raymond Edward James

Raymond E. James, 85, of Owego, passed away after a short illness on August 5, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann (Tupy) James; children: Victor (Kathy) James of Fairfax, VA; Raymond "Kip" James, Jr.; Joseph (Helene) James, both of Owego, NY; Loraine Hidock; and Thomas (Debra) James, both of Endicott, NY; Olivia Almario of Poway, CA; and Jacqui Bullington of Vista, CA; 17 granchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Nancy) James; and sisters Janice Fay, both of Sebastian, FL; and Diane James of Orlando, FL.
Ray was proud of his time in the Army, serving as a Paratrooper during the Korean War, and ending his time as Sergeant. He retired from IBM Endicott/Glendale as a cost engineer. Ray greatly enjoyed bowling and golfing in leagues, and gardening. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and often took hunting trips to the Midwest with family and friends. These are hobbies his children still enjoy doing. Everyone will remember Ray for his passion for the outdoors.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm, at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:00 am.
