Obituary of Robert J. Hines

Robert “Bob” Hines, 79, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at home.  Bob was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Edna Hines; his wife of 56 years, Valona Hines; two daughters, Michele “Shelly” Lurcock, Diane Hines; granddaughter, Joelle Robinson; two brothers, Raymond Hines, Jr., Joe Hines, two sisters, Emily Edwards, Louise Van Vorce.  Bob is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Joe Robinson, Christine and Scott Stica; eight grandchildren, Renee Dunlap, Shannon Hines, Josh (Megan) and Jesse Robinson, Eddie (Darcy) and Henry Lurcock, Jena and Jake Stica; six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Mert and Pat Hines, Sr.; sister, Hattie Testa; brother-in-law, Jimmy Dennis; numerous nieces and nephews.  Bob retired from NYSDOT, Owego, NY and enjoyed umpiring for various men’s softball Leagues.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.  Condolences may be made to Bob’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
