Obituary of James Marcus Harders

James M. Harders, 81, of Owego passed away suddenly on Monday, December 16, 2013 at home. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Marcus and Clara Harders; and his sister, Bernice Cortright. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Harders; children, Kathie (Bill) Ely of Owego, Doug (Roni) Harders of Apalachin, and Brian (Tracy) Harders of Owego; grandchildren, Jason, Tosha, Daniel, Corey Travis, John, and Corey James. Jim retired from the Town of Owego Highway Department in 1994, before that he worked for many years at GE in Westover. He enjoyed traveling, playing his guitar, and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a creative man who constructed himself a model indian village that he proudly displays in the family room. Jim was a member of the Owego Moose Lodge #1595 for 38 years. At Jim’s request there will be no services. The family would like to thank Dr. Leonti, Dr. Shah, and special Thanks to Dr. Quasam and staff at Penn Ave Dialysis Unit.
