Obituary of Doris I. Van Etten

Doris VanEtten, 85, of Candor passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at home. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Iva Manning; husband, Leon VanEtten; daughter, Laura Relyea; and son, James VanEtten; Doris is survived by her sons, Charles (Barb) VanEtten of Willard, Richard (Kyle) VanEtten of Candor, David (Karen) VanEtten of Corning, and Garth VanEtten of Rochester; daughters, Mary VanEtten of Binghamton, Marie (Michael) Preston of Painted Post, Donna (Bernard) Blinn of Candor, and Becky (Ronald) Terpak; sisters, Agnes (Graydon) Martin of GA, Bernice (Jack) Oltz of Willseyville, and Helen VanEtten of Candor; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Doris loved to crochet and donated lots of hats to the United Way. She loved to garden and loved spending time with her grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Philip Jordan officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Doris’s name to the American Cancer Society or the Candor Ambulance Squad.
