Obituary of Elizabeth M. Marsh
Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth "Beth" Marie Marsh (née Petrolle) was born to Jereane Williams and the late Joseph Petrolle Jr. on June 2nd, 1963. She passed away after a long battle with cancer on April 23rd, 2020. Beth is survived by her treasured children, Eric (Mackenzie) Marsh and Layla Elizabeth Adwell. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchild, Bristol Marsh. Beth's children and her granddaughter meant the world to her and her months spent as Bristol's GiGi were some of the happiest of her life. She is also survived by her mother, Jereane Williams; her step-mother, Connie Petrolle; her brothers, Joseph (Dawn) Petrolle and Keith Williams; her sisters, Rebekah (Phillip) Miles, Victoria (Brian) Lee, and Susanna (Charles) McCorkle. Beth is survived by many nieces, a nephew, cousins, and other extended family. Beth was a true friend and leaves behind many friends who were also her family. After a lifetime of friendship, Bebe, Maris, and Spic were some of the last to visit with her, along with her friend, Linda, who was her support for each and every appointment no matter where or when. Her forever faithful friends, Gina and Cathy, were by her side to the end. In addition to her father, Beth was predeceased by her step-father, Gordon Williams, and both her maternal and paternal grandparents. Beth was a kind, accepting, and thoughtful person. She lived life on her terms. She was a wild child, an authentic free spirit, and a true hippie at heart. She cared for her loved ones selflessly. Most of all, she was strong and a fighter. She fought her battle with cancer as she lived her life, with true courage and bravery. She taught us all how to laugh, have fun, and not take things so seriously. Beth's words to live by were, "Let go of the things that suffocate your soul." A party celebrating her life will be held at a later, to-be-determined date due to the current restrictions. In the meantime, wherever you are, please raise a toast in Beth's honor. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cancer Resource Center, in memory of Beth Marsh, 612 W State Street Ithaca, NY 14850. Condolences may be made to Beth's family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com. She will he laid to rest with her father at Calvary cemetery in Johnson City, NY. 453 days to grassroots!
