Wayne joined our bridge group, probably shortly after his retirement, and he fit in with everyone easily. He was a good bridge player and a good sport. He used certain phrases commonly such as "Let's go down" before his final bid, and often said "7 no trump" but rarely actually bid that, and when leaving partner in their bid said "you asked for it" among other sayings. We will miss him with his signature leather hat and cooler full of decaf coffee. He was especially proud of his beautiful grandchildren. Our condolences to his family, Donna Mundt

I am so sorry to learn of Wayne’s passing! Although I moved away and haven’t seen him in many years, I remember him fondly. My heart goes out to you Toini and Robert, and the rest of the wonderful Maki family for the loss of Wayne. Sending thoughts and praying for your comfort in each other. Wayne and I were classmates at Candor High and we rode the same bus to school. I was fortunate to have gotten together with Wayne [briefly] at a classmate get-together this summer, thanks to some other friends. I am SO glad we did that now. I send my sincere condolences to the friends and family of Wayne. Rest in Peace old friend.
